NGUD #3 will offer in-person learning starting on 9-22-20
North Greene Unit District #3 will offer in person learning beginning on September 22. NGUD #3 will return to in person instruction for all of those wishing to return to school. Those wishing to remain remote will be allowed to do so for the reminder of the first 9 weeks. We will reevaluate the status of the local COVID-19 numbers at that time to determine if extended remote learning will be necessary. We will be following the updated Return to School Plan which is posted on the district website. Instruction will be provided from 8:00 to 2:00 Tuesday through Friday, with all students being on remote learning on Mondays. The shortened days and remote learning Mondays will also be reevaluated at the end of October. Dismissal times will be staggered, so please refer to the Return to School Plan for details at each attendance center. Please view this document as many of the questions you may have will be answered within the Return to School Plan. It includes details on pick up drop of procedures, arrival and dismissal times, and general rules that will need to be followed per the Greene County Health Department and the Illinois Department of Public Health. Meals will not be delivered to students choosing to stay on remote learning when we return to in person learning on September 22, but families and students may still pick them up at each attendance center if needed.
All students and staff must wear a mask when in the building. An adult must self certify each and everyday that their student/students are COVID 19 symptom free. This can easily be done through the NGUD #3 app or through the district website. We know this is an inconvenience, but in order to maintain the safety of our students, staff, and community it must be done daily.
Please fill out the short survey sent to each of your students or on the district website pertaining to who is choosing to return to in person instruction, who is choosing to stay remote through the first nine weeks, who will need to pick up lunches, and who will be providing their own transportation. This data is needed quickly so we can best prepare for the safe return of students to the attendance centers and for contact tracing purposes. We are trying to reduce the numbers of students on buses during this time and if you can transport your students, it would be appreciated. We will need to have seating charts on the buses so please answer the survey question regarding whether or not you will be transporting your students or relying on district transportation.
There will be multiple all calls going out from myself and other administrators. Please stay tuned as information and details change daily. Thank all of you for being patient and understanding while we work through these troubling times. Our main priority here at North Greene Unit District #3 is providing our students with a safe learning environment where they can achieve.
