Dear Staff, Families, and Students,
Welcome back! I hope that each of you had a wonderful holiday break and enjoyed special time with friends and family. Time away from our everyday tasks can be remarkably restorative. I am confident that, as always, you return to your work and studies with renewed energy and enthusiasm.
The start of a new year provides an ideal time to reflect on where we have been and where we are heading. As we continue our struggles with COVID-19, I want to thank all staff for their hard work, patience, and dedication in educating and caring for the students of NGUD #3. I want to thank all parents and family members for pushing your students to persevere through these difficult times of remote learning and the return to in person learning. I want to commend our students for being resilient and taking on new challenges to further their education. This has been a difficult school year for everyone, but everyone has put their best foot forward and taken on these challenges and barriers with great pride and determination. I also want to thank the members of the Board of Education for their dedication and understanding to do what is best for our students and staff during this pandemic.
As we return after the break please remember to self certify everyday on the district app, wear your mask appropriately, and follow the social distancing guidelines put into place at each attendance center. If you are ill please stay home. Staff vaccinations will take place as soon as the Greene County Health Department receives the vaccine. This could be near the end of this week. We return to full day schedules at both attendance centers and dismissal times will be 2:35 for NGE 1st, 3rd, and 5th grades, 2:40 for 2nd, 5th, and 6th grades, and 2:45 for bus students. Dismissal at North Greene Jr. Sr. High School will be at 3:07 for junior high students and 3:10 for high school students.
2021 starts with great promise of even greater accomplishments for our school district. Please check the website and stay alert for all call messages for information about any updates or changes.
Thank you for all that you do to make North Greene Unit District #3 the best it can be!
With my best wishes for a healthy and productive school year,
Mark Scott-Superintendent of North Greene Unit District #3
